We’re thrilled to announce a major milestone in our journey to Sawston: the main stadium floodlights are now officially powered up and shining brightly!
Last night, we switched on the lights for the first time, marking an unforgettable and emotional moment for everyone involved in the project. Seeing the stadium illuminated has only increased the excitement and anticipation as we move ever closer to opening day.
In recent weeks, we’ve shared with many of you around the ground that we were aiming for an early November move, with the Bury game as a potential debut match at the new site.
However, there are still a few key steps to complete before we can officially welcome fans to Sawston. In the next few weeks, we’re expecting responses from Building Control and Fire Safety, which are essential final approvals.
Additionally, we’re awaiting delivery of the Officials Room, as well as the installation of the tannoy system and emergency lighting. We’re also preparing for a scheduled FA site visit in early November.
Restest assured we’re getting closer every day, and we remain fully committed to delivering a top-notch experience for everyone at the new stadium. We hope you’re as excited as we are—thank you for your continued support as we reach these final stages. Stay tuned for more updates as we prepare to make Sawston our home!
