It’s been a busy week at The FWD-IP Community Stadium with different contractors at work
and the return visit of the FA.
Our first visit was from The Joshua Tree who generously sent a team of gardeners to site to have a ‘Big Cut Back’. Thank you to Will for organising this support.
Our stadium is surrounded by a lot of trees/bushes and over growth and as you can imagine with the weather over the last few months it has grown significantly.
Ely Plumbing and Heating have been on site connecting up the water and drainage for temporary facilities on site.
Jules Maintenance has been installing the new accessible seating area, with a kind donation of materials from Travis Perkins in Stapleford - Thank you to you both.
We then welcomed some familiar faces in MR Barrett Electrical, many of you will remember Super Keeper Zac Barrett, with his family business installing emergency lighting around the ground and connecting up various temporary facilities ready for opening. Zac was very impressed with the stadium and wished he could pull his gloves back on!
We have also welcomed FWD-IP on site to install the Tannoy System. Both jobs are not quick processes and fiddly around the standing terraces.
The FA visited again last week and as still very impressed, just need to finish a couple of jobs above and discussion around temporary toilets then we will have the green light from them. In the meantime over the next week we hope to hear further from Building Control & Environmental Health, then hopefully we can start shouting about that first game.
Lots of little steps but very exciting moving forward, keep your eyes and ears peeled…
