Last week we welcomed Cubs from the 1st Sawston Scout group to visit the stadium. The Cubs, who usually meet on a Tuesday at the Marven Centre in Sawston joined us for the evening. The Cubs groups is for boys and girls aged between 8 and 10.
They enjoyed a brief tour of the main stand, with General Manager Alice Dewey, who spoke to them about the stadium build, the history of Cambridge City, and the future of the club in Sawston followed by a Q&A session.
To finish the trip our Under 14s Coaches Mark Tyler, John Harvey, and Tom Sweeney put them through their paces with a training session on the 3G pitch. Cambridge City Head of Youth and 1st team Assistant Manager Neil Midgley was also in attendance scoping out the future talent.
It was a great experience for everyone and a really good example of how Cambridge City FC can be involved in supporting the local community and bringing opportunities to local youth groups.
