ParAbility Tournaments

'We had our latest ParAbility tournament on Coldham’s Common on 28th February. With bad weather, it was the first tournament since October. We were again short of players with a couple of last-minute absentees, but the teams once more battled hard despite being down on numbers.

The City B team got off to a great start with a 4-0 win against Cambridge Utd. A 1-1 draw with a strong St Ives Rangers side followed with City unable to hang on to an early lead, but nevertheless a great performance.

Wins against March Facet (4-0) and CRC Hunts (2-0) completed the day. Special mention to Dion and Jacob who grabbed most of our goals.

Our A team also started against Cambridge Utd in a feisty encounter featuring a couple of our ex-players. An own goal by one of the Utd players was followed by a goal-saving tackle by Nathan as Utd broke away. City then bagged our second goal, an absolute rocket by Jamie, to secure a 2-0 victory.

Next we played two very youthful and skillful sides from Peterborough College. A deflected goal meant an unlucky 1-0 loss to their B team, while their excellent A team beat us soundly 2-0 with Luke in goal keeping the score down. We finished with a well-deserved 1-0 win v Histon, which came courtesy of another thunderbolt from Jamie.

So a largely successful day (5 wins, 2 losses and a draw) with our small squad. Thanks as ever to Luke in helping to check availability and round people up. The next tournament is in a couple of weeks on 20th March, before the final one on 17th April. Hoping to get the full 14 players for these tournaments.'

Paul Davies, Manager

Thank you Paul for sharing how the teams season is going so far, it is great to see the guys putting their all into tournaments. We would recommend popping along to the next tournament and support the lads! Keep it up.
