An exceptional and mature performance against a very strong St Neots team. It’s probably not fair to highlight any one individual, but with no centre halves available and 3 U16s getting the call up to the squad, it shows what a team performance it was. That said, special mention has to be given to Dennis Teixeira Scoring a first half hat trick on his debut, Fahed Kahwaji coming off the bench to add a further two second half goals and Charlie Coxall with a stunning long range drive. Not to be forgotten Alfie Tommaso with a massive contribution to the score line with four assists.
With no centre halves available responsability fell to Sam Coxall and Ryan King to step up, their performance looked as if they had played together for years. With the support of Dan Mair and Ivan Hristoskov at fullbacks the opposition were limited to few chances when Goalkeeper, Josh Smith was only called upon to make a couple of interventions.
Midfielders , Kwame Atuah, Dillon Nichols and U16 Zak Head were exceptional in their relentless determination and measured passing. With Dillon arguably posting a MOTM performance. Freddie Croft and Ollie Tyler, both U16 came off the bench, seamlessly slotting into midfield and upfront to round off a great team performance.
Final score Cambridge City 6 - St Neots 1
